It's Official! NBA at work again

     The Orlando Magic beat the bad luck Boston Celtics 113-92 Wednesday night to bring the series to 3-2. The Orlando Magic were able to put some spells on the game last night that insured there would be a game six on Friday night in Boston. First, they sprinkled long ball dust on their fingers as they fired in 13-25 three point shots. Then, they put some bruise'em butter on their bodies that allowed them to beat the Celtics up physically ncluding knocking to Celtics out of the game. Glen Davis left with a concussion after a Dwight Howard elbow and then poor Marquis Daniels ran into the same fate. It seems Dwight was mightier than a locomotive last night. But the real spell was the foggy fungus they put on the officials eyes as they made bad call after bad call which all but assured the Celtics couldnot win. Kendrick Perkins was ejected after he walked away from a bad call made by the official. Apparently, the referee did not like they way Perkins sauntered off. Then, Rajon Rondo was T'ed up for speaking to another official after being called for a foul. The Magic-ians worked had been done and all they had to do then was go out and play like the NBA was on their side. They did and now the series shifts back to Boston where the Celtics will hope to conjure up some luck of their own. They will need it now that the Magic have all the momentum and spells on their side.

Suns Sizzle at home, but can they shine in L.A.?

     The Phoenix Suns showed why they have been such a hot team during the 2010 playoffs last night. The Suns, with help from their second unit, ran the Los Angeles Lakers off the floor by defeating them 115-106 Tuesday night in order to even the series at two a piece. The aforementioned bench for the Suns accounted for 54 points, almost half of the total points scored. The Suns also used their streaky hot three point shooting to pull away from the Lakers in the 4th, so much so PG Steve Nash only needed to come in and shoot game clinching free throws in the final minutes. The Suns used the energy from the home crowd to help them employ the 2-3 zone which did not stop the Lakers as much as it made them a jump shooting team. Even with Kobe Bryant's 38 points, the Lakers could not keep up. The Suns will win a jump shooting contest against the Lakers 100 times out of 100. If the Suns can continue to play this way for the next three games, they have a real shot to go to the NBA Finals. The only problem is I do not think they will be able to play with that intensity two more games. The Suns have young players that obviously fed off of the energy from their home crowd. They did not show any real sense of this energy in L.A. I believe a few of the Suns are able to play with this intensity night in and night out. However, the real spark comes from the young guys off the bench. I do not believe they have the mental fortitude to play the way they played at home when they go to Los Angeles. I see this going seven games with the Lakers moving on. But if the Lakers somehow drop game 5, they will be in for a very hot Saturday night in Phoenix.
